Growing up, I knew my name, Adwoa was a name for a girl born on Monday. I knew a couple people named Adwoa, and they were also born on Monday. I am saying guess because some people in Ghana are named Adwoa even though they were not born on Monday. In Ghana most people have names for each day of the week for both men and women. For example,
Kwabena is given to a male born on Tuesday, and Abena is also given to a female born on Tuesday. Despite this tradition, I do like my name because my family chose it for me. 

In addition, I have my second name or middle name Serwaa. My father named me after his uncle who passed away the very day I was born. To be honest I do not know the actual meaning of my middle name Serwaa, but I have heard of a song by Yamoah's Band that Serwaa was depicting beauty. That made me think any beautiful girl is called Serwaa. 

All my names are originated in Ghana, but I wish I had an English name, so it would be easy for everyone to pronounce in Chicago.
