Some countries have traditions to name children by meaning. For example, in Ghana parents name their child according to a day of the week on which the kid was born. Therefore, a baby who was born on Monday gets name Adwoa but If a child was born on another day child gets another name. Unfortunately, in Ukraine most of people don’t have traditions about names, so that means my name doesn’t really have a meaning.
However, one day I was wondering If my name had any meanings. Therefore, I did research about my name Olesia. The Internet told that my name has one meaning, it means nature, earth and forest. Moreover, I found out that the name Olesia also means forest girl or a girl that lives in forest or takes care of it.
The meaning of my name reminds me about a ukrainian cartoon Mavka. The cartoon tells about a girl who is living in the forest, taking care of forest and animals. Also, she has long green dress with flowers that perfectly match with her green skin, hair and eyes.
In conclusion, my name doesn’t have any traditional meaning but for me it means nature and love to nature.

Hi Olesia, in reality, you have long flowing hair, and you look like a forest girl too.
