Curiosity
No one of us gets to choose their names, specifically their Birth name. Names can have different meanings. My name is quite common name in Morocco; they believe that every house should have a female name of Khadija. In Arabic, the name of Khadija came from the name of the first wife of the prophet Muhammed, she was the first person who believed in him. But of course, it has a meaning, for me, my name has a special meaning. It tells my story, my dignity, and my future.
First, I started questioning the real meaning of the name Khadija when I was Fifteen, just to have an idea about the real meaning of my name. I searched about the name, and I found out that Khadija in Arabic language means an early child, the newborn baby before the due date. It was interesting, still always wished I have a name from my people because genetically and historically I am not an Arab, I am a proud Amazigh or Berber. There are many different names, and they are meaningful. An Amazigh woman in my culture is a force, independent and she has power and leadership. I do not complain about my name it is just a fantasy that sometimes crosses my mind.
Furthermore, my family told me that my father is the person who named me, and I really appreciate that, my father is my favorite person. Having my father naming me is a blessing from him to me. This is how I feel about my name.

It’s interesting that your father chose your name. That makes it really special.
